Police Arraign Teenager, Three Others For Asssault In Osun State

The Police on Tuesday arraigned a teenager and three others for allegedly assaulting one man in Osun State.

The defendants: Ige Taofeek ‘m’, (18yrs) Rasaq Sunday ‘m’, (20yrs), Wasiu Adeyanju ‘m’ (33yrs) and Samson Ogunleye (20years) were charged with conspiracy and physical assault.

The prosecutor, Olayiwola Razaq said that the four accused persons committed the offence on the 6th of April 2020 at Olugun Street Osogbo at about 3: 30PM.

He said:

“The four did conspire among yourselves to commit felony to wit Assault Occasioning Harm and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under section 516 of criminal code cap 34 Vol. Il laws of Osun State of Nigeria 2002.

“They did use broken bottles, scissors, cutlass to inflict injury at the left hand of one Lateef Kareem ‘m’ and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under section 355 of criminal code Cap 34 Vol. I Laws of Osun State of Nigeria 2002.”

The four defendants who don’t have legal representation in court pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge preferred against them.

The Chief Magistrate, Mr. Olusegun Ayilara granted the four accused persons bail with N200, 000 and one surety and adjourned the case to 13th of May 2020 for mention.
