Claims Of Our Governors Defecting To APC Untrue – PDP

Against the backdrop of claims that some of its governors are bent on joining the fold of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Friday, described such claims as false, saying there is nothing attractive in the APC.

Spokesman of the PDP, Kola Ologbondiyan, who stated this on Friday at a media parley in Abuja, stressed that while the party sympathised with Ebonyi state governor, Dave Umahi who left the PDP for the ruling party on Tuesday, the reason for his defection, he added, will be revealed in the fullness of time. This is as the publicity scribe vowed that PDP will explore all legal windows to stop any PDP lawmaker from defecting to APC with the party’s mandate.

The opposition spokesman was reacting to claims by the Kogi state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello that more PDP governors are set to defect to the APC. Vanguard recalls that Governor Bello, had on Thursday, in a television programme declared that not less than nine PDP governors were set to team up with the APC.

Interestingly, the Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike of Rivers state had earlier in the week, declared that another PDP governor was set to follow Umahi to the APC.
