I Will Be Delighted To Break Ronaldo’s Record – Salah

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has opened up on what it would mean to surpass Cristiano Ronaldo, Luis Suarez and Alan Shearer’s Premier League goals record.

Salah notched up his 31st league goal of the campaign in Liverpool’s 2-2 draw away to West Brom on Saturday.

The Egyptian, who cost £36.9million when he joined from Roma last summer, walked away with the PFA Player of the Year after beating Kevin De Bruyne and Harry Kane to the award.

His fabulous debut season is also likely to see him clinch the Golden Boot award.

One more strike will help him break new ground with the most goals scored in a 38-game Premier League campaign and should he do that he will surpass the likes of Ronaldo and Suarez.

And when asked about the prospect of achieving that, he said: “As you know, comparing your name with these names and breaking the Premier League record of 38 (games) is something huge for the English and all over the world, so there are still three games to go.

“I want to break this record and I also want to break the one for 42 (games in a season).

“I think it’s all very near now I have (to get to) 34 goals, so it’s three goals to go.

“Let’s see what will happen in the next three games.”

Salah will now be raring to go for when his side host Roma in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final on Tuesday (7.45pm).

The Reds are hoping to clinch their sixth European Cup and the winners will face either Real Madrid or Bayern Munich in the final.
