Agege Ritual :- Barrister Akinyemi Adetunji Clears The Air “MR.Victor Achudume Is Never A Ritualist As Claimed By The Police

Sequel to the ongoing report as regard the allegation of ritual activities of Mr Achudume Victor by the Nigeria Police. Naijaoxygen.com contacted Mr Tunji Akinyemi, the legal Councel to the accused Suspect. Below is his response.
My name is Akinyemi Adetunji Esq. of Chief Y.A. Ajao & Co. Mr. Achudume Victor is our client. He is a chartered accountant who equally practice as a media Practitioner. He was arrested on saturday by security men of Elere police station in Agege on a complaint by one Mrs. Aisha Salaudeen who alleged that our client shaved the armpit of her ward Seun Salaudeen for rituals and in a short time the purported parent Mrs. Aisha Salaudeen who equally lived in the slum part of Arigbanla Agege has instigated other children in the neighborhood who are friends of her ward Seun Salaudeen, to also corroborate her ward’s claim against our client.
Our client’s position, is that he loves football and at his leisure he played football and infact owned a football academy where he engaged a coach to train young boys to play soccer at the Police College training field and on Agege playing field and aside from the usual way he has always been nice to his children and other children, he cannot even remember this particular child because he comes in contact with many of them, and most times on their way to school he will assist some with transport fares and others fees.
He had at no time shaved anyone’s armpit, he had worked hard all these years to earn all he has, a house which took him seven years to build in which other two tenants lived therein and couple of cars with his sweat and his children too are kids in his football academy.
Over the weekend, the police went to my client’s house, searched everywhere and found nothing to justify the baseless ritual claim of the Mrs Salaudeen, but then our client was detained without administrative bail even though the allegation is a bailable offence.
On Monday 28th day of May, 2018 the police at the divisional station informed us that the Commissioner of police directed that the matter be transferred to his office, only for the Commissioner of police of parade our client that same morning for an allegation that has not been thoroughly investigated.
Officially, we consider the attitude of the Commissioner of police very wrong and unconstitutional vis – a vis the 1999 constitution, a person is presumed to innocent until proven guilty by the provision of section 36 (6) of the 1999 constitution, the police themselves have not concluded investigation, but the and significance effect of parade by the Commissioner of police already concluded that our client is guilty before an ordinary reasonable person.
The Commissioner of police is unnecessary active in parading suspect these days which is contrary to best international practices in other jurisdictions, and at the end of those investigation, the suspect are usually set free, but the police would have damaged the integrity and reputations of these suspects, our client Mr. Victor Achudeme is presumed to be innocent, and only the Court has power to pronounce his guilt, investigation is still on going, presently no medical personnel has examine these children to ascertain their the health condition, does this children even have hairs on their armpit? There’s always an aftershave effect burns on shaved part of the body, is there any on this Seun Salaudeen? All these questions begs for answer, we are not ready to perverts investigation of the police, but the police should set records straight.
Our client over years has been cheered with several accolades from families and friends of his philanthropic gestures, his a respected chartered accountant, a media practitioner and a philanthropist, who has clean and undoubted record of impeachable character, but then as they say when lies go on for years, one day the truth will have its cause.
Signed by:
Akinyemi Adetunji Esq.
