Many Hospitalized As Truck Loaded With Fuel Fails Brake In Bayelsa

Reports have it that about four persons have been critically injured in a ghastly motor accident involving a truck loaded with petrol and a commercial Keke (tricycle), at akenpai community in Yenagoa, Bayelsa, along the mbiama-yenagoa expressway.

Men of the fire service arrived the scene to put measures in place to prevent a possible fire outbreak. According to an eyewitness, Miss Ann, she noted that, it seemed like the truck failed brake before hitting the tricycle.

She also narrated that it took serious intervention to be able to pull out victims who were stuck. She further stated, that at the time of incident, the victims have been rushed to the federal medical centre.

The incident caused gridlock and slow vehicular movements along the major roads, as motorists resorted to a one-way lane.
