Land Grabbers Was Arrested By Soldiers After Opening Fire On Farmers In Edo State

Some land grabbers who armed themselves with various dangerous weapons including guns and have been terrorizing land developers, prospective land buyers, local farmers in Obagie (Uwafiokun) Community in Ovia North-East Local Government Area of Edo state, have been arrested.

According to reports, there was a big fracas on Thursday that called for the attention of men of the Nigerian Army which resulted to the shooting of the Chairman when youths of the Community Development Associations, (CDA), laid siege and were shooting sporadically at some of the community farmers over land issues.

The gang leader and some of his boys were caught with weapons and were handed over to the Police for further investigation and prosecution. Some of the boys arrested gave their names as follows Osaheni, Ken a.k.a Dada. Ekaba, Buggie, Osagie, and others.

Some of the residents of the community who spoke with Ihogbe Convoke News (ICN), decried the activities of the said youths and called on the state government, the Oba of Benin and other security agencies to adequately prosecute those arrested and make sure they are brought to book.
