Burna Boy Wins ‘African Artiste Of The Year’ In AFRIMA 2019

Grammy-nominated Nigerian Artiste, Burna Boy, on Saturday night emerged as the “African Artiste of The Year” in the 2019 AFRIMA Awards.

The 6th All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) was held at the Eko convention hall, Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos State.

Damini Ogulu, better known as Burna Boy, also went home with the Best Male artiste in West Africa.

Naija News reports that many of the Nigerian artistes who won awards did not attend the event.

Most of them however had representatives at the event, but award winners from other regions in Africa turned up for the show.

The annual event was attended by Nigeria’s Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed.

Wizkid won song of the year in Africa, with his song ‘Fever’, while Tiwa Savage won Best Female Artiste in Western Africa. The award was collected by her manager.
