Sanwo Olu Inaugurate Victoria Island-Lekki Circulation Project

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu today, December 4, inaugurated the Victoria Island-Lekki Circulation Project.

The Governor also said the administration also flagged off construction of five major roads, and regeneration of seven junctions cutting across 1.8 km roads prone to traffic within the commercial axis of Victoria Island and Lekki and is expected to be completed in six months.

He said:

“We began planning this project about four months ago, and decided that for it to be successfully delivered in record time and positively impact lives, we needed to apply the Public Private Partnership (PPP) model.

“We therefore identified partners that would help us deliver on our promise, hence Access Bank and Planet Projects.

We entered into this partnership to promote socio-economic growth of the state by improving the traffic linkage and travel time around the highly commercial axis of traffic congestion being experienced within the project area as it reduces productivity and discourages growth of businesses.

I hereby implore commuters and residents in that axis to please bear the discomfort that may arise from the construction of the marked roads, and I’m also assuring you all that the state’s traffic management officials would be on the roads to ensure smooth vehicular flow during the period of construction.”
