SHOCKING NEWS: Lagos Confirms First Coronavirus Related Death

The Lagos State government on Saturday confirmed the death of a COVID-19 patient in the state.
Prof. Akin Abayomi, Commissioner of Health in the state disclosed that the deceased was a 55-year-old who recently returned from Holland.
In a series of tweets, the Commissioner stated that the deceased had underlying ailments like Diabetics and kidney-related issues.
According to Abayomi:
“I regret to announce the first #COVID19 related death in Lagos state.
”The deceased was a 55-year-old Nigerian; male who lived in Holland but returned to Lagos 2 weeks ago. He had a kidney transplant 7 years ago and is also diabetic.
“He was on strong immune suppression drugs for the kidney transplant. He was admitted on the night of April 2nd, 2020 on presumption of complications from the kidney transplant.
“He did not provide full account of his travel history or medical circumstances to the attending doctors in keeping with global trend and to enable guided treatment for #COVID19 related vulnerability due to severe underlying ill health.”
Meanwhile, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), had yesterday confirmed two COVID-19 related deaths in the country.
NCDC had disclosed that the deaths were recorded in Edo and Lagos State.
