Truck Crushes 2 Women To Death On Lagos To badan Expressway
Two women were, on Saturday, crushed to death in an accident involving a Mack truck and a motorcycle around Lotto, beside NNPC filling station, on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
Mr Babatunde Akinbiyi, the Spokesperson of Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), confirmed the incident to newsmen in Abeokuta.
Akinbiyi, who said that the accident occurred around 8:02 am., added that the truck, marked FST 984 XX, had break failure, lost control and hit the moving motorcycle, with no number plate, killing the women on the spot.
“The truck and the motorcycle were both on the outbound lane from Lagos when the crash happened due to break failure by the truck, which made the driver to lose control.“The truck and the motorcycle as well as the driver are with the police at the Redeemed Police Station,” Akinbiyi said.
The TRACE spokesman further explained that the rider of the motorcycle disappeared after the accident and was nowhere to be found.
He added that the bodies of the deceased had been deposited at the morgue of the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH), Sagamu.
