Please End Killings In Southern Kaduna State, Ositelu Urges FG

The Primate of The Church of the Lord (Prayer Fellowship), Archbishop Rufus Ositelu, has Ositelu, has asked the Federal Government to end the killings in Southern Kaduna.

This was contained in the cleric’s statement released after the end of the church’s 84th annual Tabieorar convention on Saturday.
Speaking on the country’s state of security at the event, Ositelu said, “The primary function of governments all over the world is to protect the lives and property of their citizens. The insecurity in the country means that it necessary for the government to review our security architecture.
“Peace in Southern Kaduna is a very important factor in having a cordial relationship among all the diverse religious and ethnic groups in Northern Nigeria. The destruction of lives and property in Southern Kaduna is symbolic of the security challenge that Nigeria is facing.
“I hereby call on the Federal Government to demonstrate the resolve to fight the terrorists and shun nepotism, ethnic and religious sentiments in the war against terrorism. The killings of Christians in Northern Nigeria, particularly in Southern Kaduna, must stop.”
The cleric also advocated fiscal federalism as the best way of solving Nigeria’s problems.
He said, “Fiscal federalism is the major antidote for many woes confronting Nigeria. With fiscal federalism in place, all the regional violent groups will seize to exist, as they will not want to destroy the economies of their regions. Moreover, the citizens will be able to hold their regional governments accountable.”
