Tiwa Savage Needs Celia To Succeed Or Else… [Must Read]

Tiwa Savage’s third studio album and her first under Universal Music is scheduled to drop in the next few days, but she needs this album to do one thing for her — Get Her Hits

For years now, the crown of the best female act has always been Tiwa Savage’s. But these days, it doesn’t seem like it anymore.
The hits are not coming. The much fanfare and excitement that comes with knowing Tiwa Savage has a single coming is missing. It’s like we know what to expect.
We know what it would sound like. No jokes, but we perhaps know it would be “mid.”
Because the last singles have been mid. The catchy, high spirited vibe has been withdrawn.
At least 49-99 was one of the bops of 2019. High tempo track with outstanding lyrics that passed a message —be rich, be part of the 49 sitting, aim higher.

49-99 Was Good, But Tiwa’s Recent Singles Have Been Unimpressive

But hey, the singles that followed 49-99 were hastily forgotten. They lost their relevance as soon as they dropped. The RnB ballad, Attention. The Afro fusion single, Owo Mi Da. The love-themed Dangerous Love would have done better if it was released March or April. Koroba on the other hand is unexplainable.
With all of these under-performing singles, Tiwa Savage has a lot to do. Much is expected from this album to hit a particular wavelength both home and abroad.
Celia is her first album under Universal Music and the success of this album will determine if the franchise can still put their weight behind her.

Yemi Alade Might Take Over

Yemi Alade is lurking especially after being considered for the Grammy’s Best Music World Album last year alongside Burna Boy—Burna’s album went on to being the one nominated.
The success of Celia will hugely determine if Tiwa Savage still holds the stake as the best female act in this sphere.
If it succeeds and goes on to have a slew of hits, she might struggle it out with Burna Boy when it comes to who will be considered for the Grammys.
But if it doesn’t. It seems likely her reign as the Queen of Nigerian Music might be over soon.

What’s Your Take On This?

Will Celia Be One Of The Best Albums of 2020?
