MUSIC LOVERS!! Which Nigerian Record Label Have Frustrated Upcoming Artistes – Always Having Issues With Their Signees?
What Is Record Label?
Based on popular definition. A record label is a brand in the music industry that works in the publishing and marketing of music videos and recordings. A record label also conduct talent scouting and development of new artists and maintaining contracts with recording artists and their managers.
The major function of a Record Label is to take care of the copyright of sound and video recordings by:
1. Produce
2. Manufacture
3. Distribute
4. Market
5. Promote
6. Enforce
Here in Nigeria and most part of the world, recording artists rely upon record labels to broaden their consumer base, market their albums, and promote their singles on streaming services, radio, and television.
Record labels also provide publicists such as Naijaloaded who assist performers in gaining positive media coverage, and arrange for their merchandise to be available via stores and other media outlets.
However in Nigeria, there are some Record Labels that are terribly bad and have frustrated several upcoming artists. These Labels always have one issue or the other with their Signees. I don’t want to mention names for some reasons. But I’m sure most of you know the labels I’m talking about.
I can only list out few top Record Labels in Nigeria, from the list you can spot the labels I’m referring to.

I purposely listed 16 Record Labels to get you confused, so that people will not say Naijaloaded is projecting Label A or B in a bad light.
To be more explicit, I’m talking about 1 Lagos based and 1 Portharcourt based Record Labels. They’re terrible place for upcoming artists. Forget the hypes surrounding them.
I drop pen here.
