President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday, deployed the former Chief of Army Staff, Lt.Gen. Tukur Yusufu Buratai (rtd) to Benin Republic as an Ambassador.
Also, the immediate Chief of Defence Staff, General Abayomi Gabriel Olonisakin (rtd), has been deployed to the Republic of Cameroon as an Ambassador-Designate of Nigeria. This was confirmed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, while presenting letter of credence to the newly appointed ex-service chiefs. This was contained in a statement by Mr Kimiebi Ebienfa, information officer of the ministry of foreign affairs. The statement reads,
Recall that President Buhari, upon the retirement of the service chiefs, appointed them as non-career ambassadors. |
