Expect Continued Progress Against Our Challenges In New Year, Buhari Tells Nigerians

President Muhammadu Buhari has urged Nigerians to look forward to a year of continued progress in addressing the country’s security and socioeconomic challenges.

He gave the charge on Friday in his New Year message to Nigerians to usher in the year 2022.

The President also urged all citizens, regardless of religion or political affiliation, to join forces in the struggle to preserve the country united in the face of adversity.

He conceded that chronic instability in some parts of the country may have jeopardized his administration’s overarching goal of putting the country on an irreversible path of growth and progress.

President Buhari, on the other hand, stated that the administration would remain committed to its promises and would continue to implement its programs and objectives.

To do so, he emphasized that standing together in the face of adversity was considerably greater and would ultimately be more profitable and viable than the sum of its distinct parts.

The President also took the opportunity to highlight some of his administration’s accomplishments thus far, as well as what Nigerians can expect in the areas of security, economy, and anti-corruption, among other things.
