Liverpool Fans In Celebration After Star Player’s Red Card Was Overturned By Premier League (READ)
Alexis Mac Allister’s red card against Bournemouth on Saturday has been overturned by the FA after Liverpool’s appeal against the midfielder’s three-match ban was successful.
Mac Allister was given a straight red by referee Thomas Bramall for a challenge on Ryan Christie just before the hour mark during Liverpool’s 3-1 victory over Bournemouth at Anfield, with his side leading 2-1 at the time.
The World Cup winner was set to be suspended for Liverpool’s next three matches against Newcastle, Aston Villa and Wolves, but he will no longer serve a ban.
“An independent regulatory commission has removed Alexis Mac Allister’s three-match suspension following a claim of wrongful dismissal,” the FA said via their spokesperson account on Twitter.
