APC Will Mess You Up – Olusegun Bamgbose Tells Jonathan

Barrister Olusegun Bamgbose, the National Coordinator, Concerned Advocates for Good Governance, CAGG, has advised former President Goodluck Jonathan, to quit partisan politics without further delay.

According to the senior lawyer, “Since 1999 when Nigeria returned to Democracy, Bayelsa State has been the stronghold of PDP but very, unfortunately, they crashed out in the recent Governorship election in the State,”

all because of the former President and his kinsmen who threw their weights behind the All Progressives Congress, APC and its candidate, David Lyon.

In a statement issued to us on Sunday, Bamgbose noted that “This is certainly the biggest political loss suffered by People Democratic Party in 20 years of democracy in Nigeria. It’s not only disgraceful but very humiliating.

“It’s speculated that the major reason amongst others for the fatal defeat was the tactical support of Goodluck Jonathan for the APC candidate, Duoye Diri.

“This is no doubt a great backstabbing on the side of Jonathan. It’s really a great betrayal of a high order.

“The action of the formal President, to say the least, is highly condemnable, immoral and politically unethical.

“He should have reflected on the fact that it was on the platform of the party he became the Executive President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

“It’s obvious that PDP is experiencing serious internal crises, but notwithstanding, he committed a political blunder by permitting his stronghold to be taken over by the enemies.
