President Buhari Approval Of $1.9 Billion For Kano To Niger Republic Rail Line Is A Misplaced Priority. (SEE WHY)

On Wednesday the 23rd September 2020, the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government approved a contract for the development of the proposed Kano-Katsina-Jibia to Maradi rail line in Niger Republic and Dutse, capital of Jigawa, for a total cost of $1,959,744,723.71.

He said,

“The proposed rail line from Kano in Nigeria to Maradi in Niger Republic was going to cover a track length of 248 kilometres and will pass through seven senatorial districts in the North”.

Unfortunately, this new development have sparked alot of controversy on the Nigerian cyber space, as many Nigerians find it absurd and unnecessary.

LMAO. These people play too much in this country. So among all the burdens and necessities in Nigeria, Kano To Niger Republic Rail way is what they could quickly approve. Wow! This is serious.

I am 100% against the Rail Project from Kano to Niger Republic while over 70% of Nigerian roads are not motorable. What sort of misplaced priority is this.
